Our client, a leader within the manufacturing and supply industry require an experienced Transport Manager to join the team. You will join a company that offers bespoke solutions and product development for their client base.

Role: Permanent Transport Manager Location: Herefordshire

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 Hours of Work: 8 - 5

Role Summary: Responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters. This includes managing budgets, organising schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties.

Duties and responsibilities:

* Responsible for the management of the Transport Function, drivers and yard

* Transport Planning, Legal Compliance and the daily operation

* Ensure compliance with statutory obligations regarding working time legislation and operator licensing

* Ensure all TPP policies and procedures are adhered to and maintained

* Ensure effective and efficient people management through coaching, mentoring and developing individuals and teams

* Responsible for absence management, sickness and holiday allocation

* Ensure legal compliance with all relevant EU drivers hours legislation, working time legislation and operator licensing

* Champion a culture of continuous improvement

* Preparation and presentation of accurate and professional information to be relayed to the customer on daily, weekly and monthly basis

* Ensure Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to

* Work closely alongside Yard Team Leader, ensuring open lines of communication

* Responsible for fleet management and subcontractor costs

* Communicating effectively and accurately with suppliers, clients and colleagues

* Generate KPI reports

* Drive transport cost down and review weekly

* Deliver daily transport meetings

The Ideal Candidate

* CPC Certificate

* Strong working knowledge of the transport operations and drivers' hours legislation

* Ability to think quickly while maintaining highest standards of accuracy

* Meet deadlines and work comfortably under pressure

* A good working knowledge of Microsoft office and data entry systems
