SITE MANAGER: JOB DESCRIPTION
Required qualifications:
- CITB CSCS Manager Card (NVQ Level 5 - Site Manager)
- CITB SMSTS
- EUSR - Utilities for Clean Water sites (preferable)
- CPCS - Excavator, Dumper and Telehandler desirable
- eCAT 4+ scan
- Abrasive Wheels
- Use of Spill Kits desirable
- Risk Assessments desirable
- Slinger / Signaller, Lifting Ops desirable
Desired Key Skills: Good commercial awareness;
- Good knowledge of building methods and regulations;
- Effective communication skills;
- Team working skills;
- Ability to motivate others and mentor junior members of the team;
- Problem solving skills;
- A keen eye for detail and quality;
- Proven decision-making ability.
Key tasks of the job are:
- Overseeing construction works and effective co-ordination / supervision of works teams;
- Working to set timescales within strict budgets, whilst ensuring quality and environmental compliance;
- Adhering to the CDM Regulations 2015;
- Adhering to all relevant HSE codes, health & safety rules & regulations, legislation including Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER Regs 1998 and LOLER Regs 1998;
- Ensuring that all environmental and quality policies and legislation are adhered to;
- Solving problems on site as they arise;
- Addressing the needs of the Client and ensuring effective co-operation and liaison with Clients, quantity surveyors and sub contractors;
- Selecting tools and materials and monitoring the safe use of machinery on site;
- Checking drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly;
- Assessing and minimising risks as well as undertaking safety inspections and reporting back to the Client;
- Preparing site reports and keeping on top of important site documentation such as permits and licences;
- Mentoring and motivating junior members of the team.
