SITE MANAGER: JOB DESCRIPTION

Required qualifications:

  • CITB CSCS Manager Card (NVQ Level 5 - Site Manager)
  • CITB SMSTS
  • EUSR - Utilities for Clean Water sites (preferable)
  • CPCS - Excavator, Dumper and Telehandler desirable
  • eCAT 4+ scan
  • Abrasive Wheels
  • Use of Spill Kits desirable
  • Risk Assessments desirable
  • Slinger / Signaller, Lifting Ops desirable

Key tasks of the job are:

  • Overseeing construction works and effective co-ordination / supervision of works teams;
  • Working to set timescales within strict budgets, whilst ensuring quality and environmental compliance;
  • Adhering to the CDM Regulations 2015;
  • Adhering to all relevant HSE codes, health & safety rules & regulations, legislation including Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER Regs 1998 and LOLER Regs 1998;
  • Ensuring that all environmental and quality policies and legislation are adhered to;
  • Solving problems on site as they arise;
  • Addressing the needs of the Client and ensuring effective co-operation and liaison with Clients, quantity surveyors and sub contractors;
  • Selecting tools and materials and monitoring the safe use of machinery on site;
  • Checking drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly;
  • Assessing and minimising risks as well as undertaking safety inspections and reporting back to the Client;
  • Preparing site reports and keeping on top of important site documentation such as permits and licences;
  • Mentoring and motivating junior members of the team.
