General Purpose of Role:

Working within the Purchasing Department, the main duties of the role will be to assist within the overall purchasing function, ensuring that the day to day responsibilities of the department are completed to the required standard.

The role has potential for career development and the company is looking for an enthusiastic and creative candidate to contribute to process improvement, bringing fresh ideas and generally developing the department.

Main Responsibilities:

· Assist with general department administration including:

o Order processing - MRP and purchase requisition

o Product sourcing - RFQ

o Expediting

o Part number and bills of material (BOM) creation

o Good housekeeping of the purchasing system and files

o Reacting to any changes in customer demand

o Resolving invoice queries

o Assisting with departmental projects

o Stock control

· Supplier co-ordination:

o Supplier sourcing

o Building supplier relationships

· Other departmental responsibilities:

o Contributing towards the co-ordination of the department

o Working closely with the other internal departments, for example; Finance, Technical etc., maintaining strong working relationships and efficient communications

o Identifying improvement opportunities

o Taking initiative and contributing to overall process improvement within the purchasing role
