Our client, a global leader within the freight forwarding and logistics sector require an experienced Operations Clerk to join a busy Import/Export team. You will have the opportunity to deal with a diverse portfolio of businesses, working with clients to move, manage and distribute goods offering a range of services and specialising in project logistics.

Position: Operations Clerk

Location: Bristol

Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm

Salary: Competitive

Role Summary:

A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and commercially minded individual to join the Operations Department. The successful applicant must have experience within the Import/Export industry, knowledge of GDP's and a background in air freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Receive jobs from clients

* Job allocation to appropriate logistics service provider

* Ensure correct documentation for each job

* Customs declarations

* Validate shipment routing

* J2J transfers and pre-alerts

* Handovers and renominations

* Arrange collection form carriers and onward delivery to customer

* Proactive support of customer service teams

* Irregularity handling and escalation as appropriate to customer services

The Ideal Candidate:

* Previous air freight experience essential

* Strong working knowledge of customs procedures

* Ideally worked to 4PL/LLP

* Dangerous good qualification would be ideal

* Operated to GDP

* Used AS400

* Strong IT skills

* Excellent customer service skills
