We require an experienced Import Operations Clerk to join our client a world leader with a diverse client portfolio. Specialising in project logistics, freight forwarding, contract logistics and specialized services, backed by industry-leading technology.

Position: Operations Clerk

Location: Bristol

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

Salary: Competitive

Role Summary:

A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and commercially minded individual to join the Operations Department in Bristol. The successful applicant must have experience within the freight forwarding industry, specifically import and customs knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

* Liaise closely with customer services

* Review Job for increased GP/cost reduction opportunities

* Customs declarations

* Handovers and renominations (imports)

* Complete Duty/VAT invoicing and ensure receipt/collection of funds (imports)

* Acceptance of E2's (imports)

* Arrange collection from carriers and onward delivery to customer (imports)

* Monitor POD (imports)

* Ensure timely and accurate updates of SECT events

* Proactive support of Customer Service teams

* Liaise with SPC's, Transport Centres, external suppliers to monitor job progress

* Irregularity handling and escalation as appropriate to Customer Services

The Ideal Candidate:

* Strong working knowledge of Imports and Customs Documentation is essential

* Previous freight forwarding and logistics experience essential

* Ocean/air freight knowledge

* Familiar with logistic procedures

* Strong IT skills

* Excellent customer service skills
