Our client is a recognised global leader in the international freight and logistics sector. Due to recent successes and growth, we are recruiting an experienced Air/Sea freight Customer Operator to join a busy land expanding ogistics team.

Permanent Logistics Customer Services Clerk

Location: Bristol

Salary Dependant on Experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client liaison and job preparation
  • Account Management
  • Irregularity handling
  • Hands on knowledge of compliance within Good Distribution Practices (GDP) for Pharmaceutical Products
  • Deal with customer enquiries
  • Prepare Quotations and obtain rates
  • Liaison with consignee and overseas network (imports)
  • Monitor and confirm arrival (imports)
  • Request clearance and delivery instructions (imports)
  • Arrange collection (exports)
  • Arrange International Transport and notify client of shipping details (exports)
  • Ensure accurate Cost and Revenue estimates are made against jobs

The Successful Candidate:

  • Strong customer service background
  • You must have experience of working in a target driven commercial air/sea freight movement and logistics
  • Proven account management and experience of up-selling and development of your desk
  • Generate sales leads and appointments
  • Irregularity handling
  • GDP training, Dangerous Goods Qualification, Security Qualification ideally
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Commercially astute with experience of preparing quotation
  • Aptitude for sales with a proactive approach
