Hours: Between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday - Various flexible working hours

THIS IS A TEMPORARY ROLE LASTING BETWEEN 6-12 WEEKS

The role of a Customer Service Advisor/Underwriting Assistant is one which proves challenging yet truly rewarding. The role offers the opportunity to become a key member of a high-paced and continually evolving team within the UK's largest specialist motor insurer.

The Operations department works closely with all associated functions to ensure that the customer experience is seamless throughout. Within the underwriting operation, the role holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of underwriting activities and administrative tasks including telephony-based queries and electronic communication. Underwriting Assistants contribute to the delivery of product and service proposition to brokers across the country providing an efficient, accurate and high level of service.

Responsibilities

The role of an Underwriting Assistant includes responsibility for;

  • Contributing to the execution of underwriting strategy for an allocated class of business
  • The creation of system driven policy documentation and servicing of new and existing business
  • Engaging with brokers, distribution partners and customers through telephone and email platforms
  • Contribute to culture change throughout team and peer groups
  • Self-adherence to all regulatory requirements, guidelines and working practices.

Product & Technical Knowledge

After the completion of the 'Academy' induction course, Underwriting Assistants will have;

  • Understanding of policy wordings
  • Basic understanding of the legal principle of insurance and insurance-based contracts
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory and compliance provisions
  • Working knowledge of the UK insurance market including internal and external operating models
