Role: Driver/Loader Waste Management
Rate: £10.44 + Unsociable hours
Hours: 6am - 2pm & 2pm-10pm
Term: Temporary Ongoing
You must be able to provide me with your references to cover two year's work history.
To drive a heavy goods vehicle or work as a loader normally undertaking domestic waste collection, trade waste collection or recycling and follow the organisation's procedures on the delivery of loads.
Working as part of a small team on a rounds based operation.
Undertaking routine maintenance of the vehicle and taking reasonable care at all times for the safety and welfare of yourself and other persons.
Able to safely drive and operate a refuse vehicle
Aware of safe working practices.
Able to give and take verbal instruction, working with supervision within a small team.
Physically able to collect wheeled bins, sacks, commercial waste bins, and recycling boxes making appropriate use of the mechanical bin lifts where applicable.
Standard of Dress/PPE:
Full UK LGV Class II driving licence
All Wales Passport Manual Handling modules A&B
Education and Training:
Candidates will have to pass a Cardiff Council driving assessment
Evidence that the above training has been undertaken (driving licence, tacho card and certificates).
The following training will be carried out by Cardiff Council:

You will be required to undergo a Driver assessment and a Tacho test - If you are unsuccessful your application will be unsuccessful.
